Chapter 201: Chapter 201 - Uncovering the Hero of Destiny
Chapter 201: - Uncovering the Hero of Destiny
"Let\'s party until dawn, hahaha!" he cheered, plopping down at the table and offering a drink to Jovina.
"Get away from me, you stiff jerk," Jovina snapped, shoving him off the chair.
Goldrich, watching the scene, chuckled. "Look at that fool... Khi khi khi... He\'s got a class that makes him heal better the more he drinks."
Broken smiled at Goldrich\'s remark.
Goldrich then posed a thoughtful question. "Do you think this game reads more than our physical bodies, giving us something related to our personal lives?"
The others at the table listened closely. Jovina shot back, "Then why isn\'t your class something like Indecent Mage or Obscene Mage?"
Goldrich grinned. "Khi khi khi, come on, Sage Sorcerer suits wise ol\' me better."
One of the folks at the table was a man with black hair dressed in white leather. He stood at about 1.7M (5.58ft) and looked like a martial artist. His name was Optimus, and he had the Rare - Grandmaster Flurry class. He was also Trison\'s teammate.
Optimus scoffed. "Trison is a useless partner. I\'d be better off alone than with that idiot."
Goldrich laughed heartily. "I think I\'m the only one here with the best teammate," he said, glancing at Jovina.
"You old fool!" Jovina retorted. "If you think I\'m the best partner, you\'re the real idiot and the worst team partner for me!"
"Then tell me, Jovina, why do you have healer skills when your mouth is so poisonous?" Melliandra asked, laughing loudly along with everyone else in the room.
"Oh... Cute little Melliandra... Of course, because I\'m someone who encourages and supports everyone around me," Jovina replied casually, laughing to herself.
Maylock couldn\'t resist jumping in with his own jab. "More likely, you\'re so bossy that you got the skill to enslave those beasts, right, Jovina?"
"Ck... Shut up, or I\'ll reveal all your dirty secrets in front of everyone, Maylock, you jerk," Jovina retorted.
Their exchange sent the table into fits of laughter.
While everyone was still indulging in the food and drinks at their respective tables, Broken seized the opportunity to find out more about the Ring of Fate, the ring given to him as the grand prize of the Dissidia Competition.
[The Ring of Fate]
[Grade: Epic]
[Durability: 95/100]
[Weight: 10]
[The Ring of Fate is a magical ring that chooses only the worthy to wield its power. Those fortunate enough to receive it unlock hidden potential, gaining extraordinary skills and abilities that provide an edge in any situation.]
[User Restriction: The ring can only be possessed by the Grand Winner of The Dissidia Kingdom\'s triennial competition event.]
The ring\'s description was simple, listing only its Epic grade and the user requirement. Since he is qualified to use it, something interesting should happen when he puts it on, right? he thought to himself.
Broken quickly slid the ring onto his finger. A soft voice vibrated in his ears, clear despite the noisy tavern filled with laughter and loud chatter. It was the same voice he remembered from his encounter with the spirit of King Elandorr. Suddenly, a series of inscriptions appeared before him.
[Yo... This is King Elandorr.]
[I hope you have read your history books and understand who I am.]
[Listen carefully, for this is of the utmost importance. I am sure you are the ideal candidate to undertake this great mission. As you have access to this Ring, it is clear that you are the one destined to possess it.]
[I have a great reward for you, something so amazing that you could never have expected to inherit it. All I need to ask is for your help. Should you succeed in the quests I have set before you, I will bestow upon you a very special reward.]
"So," Broken muttered under his breath, nodding slowly. "It seems the rewards from this Ring come in the form of quests for those deemed worthy. Clever enough."
However, King Elandorr\'s tone seemed a bit more enthusiastic... here? Very different from the lazy demeanor he had when Broken first met him.
The inscriptions continued.
[In short, someone will be taking over my role, and he will be living in the same era as you. Your responsibility is to provide him with the support he needs to accomplish his grand task.] "Eh?" Broken paused, his brow furrowing as he carefully pondered the text before him. "Why does this quest sound so similar to the one King Elandorr assigned to me before?"
Suddenly, another set of notifications popped up, revealing a brand-new quest.
[The Faithful Supporter Quest 1 - Uncovering the Hero of Destiny]
[Rating: A]
[King Elandorr has a mission for you: to seek out the individual fated to save the world! You will be provided with guidance and clues to find this person, and when you meet them, you\'ll
know.
Identify the destined hero, deliver the king\'s message, and ally with them. Together, you will become an unstoppable duo and save the world from impending doom-with style!]
[Clear Conditions:
- Greet The Faithful Hero.
- Form a bond of friendship with them.]
[Clear Rewards:
- 20 Stat Points.
- 1 Epic Production Class Ticket.]
[Quest Failure: -]
He paused for a moment, ruminating on the quest\'s description - "The Faithful Hero?" - before shaking his head in disbelief and exclaiming, "Don\'t tell me!"
A notification suddenly appeared before him, further interrupting his contemplation. [Congratulations to Broken, who completed the Quest \'Uncovering the Hero of Destiny\' faster
than a speeding bullet!]
[Because of this accomplishment, his quest rating got upgraded. His heroic efforts not only boosted the quest rating to a whopping \'S\', but also earned him a bonus reward.]
[We may never know how he did it, and we may never understand, but we do know one thing -
The sure did it fast! Congratulations.]
[As a reward for completing this quest, you will be granted 20 stat points.]
[Additionally, you will also be rewarded with an Epic Production Class Ticket.]
[To top it off, you will be gifted the rarest and most sought-after of all items: a Unique-grade
All You Need Ticket.]
Broken was so startled by the notification that he nearly spat out his drink.
"Oh, Broken..." Goldrich said with a smirk. "Don\'t gulp like that if you\'re not prepared. You really need to work on that, khi khi khi..."
Broken merely grinned at Goldrich\'s comment. Then, he turned his attention back to the notification in front of him.
"So... the quest wants me to find someone, and that someone is... me?" he muttered slowly.
"And I, by default, completed this quest without lifting a finger? An A-rating quest that got upgraded to an S-rating quest?" He couldn\'t help but chuckle to himself. "I bet Freya would be speechless if I told her about this."
He got 20 stat points and two intriguing items just waiting to be checked out. The names alone piqued his curiosity. Epic Production Class Ticket and All You Need Ticket?
He quickly examined the two items, eager to discover their potential.
