Chapter 391: - As long as I’m happy, why not?
They stopped, facing each other, and Olivia was still in disbelief over what had just happened.
"But seriously, do you sing often?"
"No... was it that bad?" Leon asked, half-joking.
She laughed again, covering her mouth with the back of her hand. "No, \'bad\' is too harsh a word... but yeah, not that bad either," she teased with a chuckle.
"At least no one got angry and threw glasses at me, right?" he said with a grin.
"But thanks... I feel like I owe you big time for that bold stunt. I\'ll have to treat you to something to make up for it."
As they walked down the corridor, Olivia pulled out her phone. "Look," she said, showing him the screen, "I recorded you while you were singing." She played the video, smiling as they watched.
Leon frowned slightly as he watched the video, feeling like his expression had been too stiff, despite how much he thought he had poured himself into the song.
"It\'s seriously not that bad... I noticed people were satisfied listening to you. I think you\'ve got some talent," Olivia said.
"Thanks for the compliment," he replied.
She chuckled again, occasionally glancing at him. "I\'m keeping this video as a little memento."
"Don\'t you dare use that video to blackmail me."
"Well, now you\'ve given me a good idea," she teased. "I might keep it in reserve for an emergency."
He just smiled, shaking his head at her playful response.
They continued walking toward the lift.
"So, do you have a Capsule Device you can use here, Olivia?" Leon asked.
She nodded with a smile. "Yes, this is an elite hotel, and they have special rooms equipped with Capsule Devices. Though, of course, the rent is pretty high."
"I imagine you can handle the price just fine, right? I mean, you spend a lot of money in the game too," he said.
She chuckled softly. "You\'re the one to talk. I\'m pretty sure you\'ve earned quite a bit in a short amount of time in that game, haven\'t you?"
"I didn\'t know you knew that much about me."
She smiled knowingly. "Well, you\'re someone to watch out for when you\'re part of the Ass Guild. It\'s only natural that your opponents would want to know a little more about you."
"So, I guess you did your homework on me too, huh?"
"You\'re still being harsh with me, you know," she replied, shaking her head with a grin as they both stepped into the lift.
She continued, "Come to my room. Let\'s continue our discussion there."
"Come to your room?" Leon repeated.
"Yes, we can talk more comfortably."
"But... is that okay?" he asked, unsure.
Olivia playfully nudged him in the side. "What are you thinking? Something bad? My manager\'s right there, you know."
"I wasn\'t thinking that at all!" Leon protested, shaking his head. "You\'re the one jumping to conclusions, Olivia."
"Well, I\'m smart and pretty. I\'m sure you find me attractive," she teased with a giggle.
Leon raised an eyebrow. "Wow, now that\'s some impressive confidence. So, not only do you claim to be smart, but you\'re super confident too."
She flashed him a playful smile. "If you saw things from my perspective, you\'d understand why I\'m this confident."
"I imagine it\'s hard being you," he joked.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
She chuckled. "Sometimes, but mostly it\'s pretty fun. A lot of people tend to follow what I say just because of my charm."
"Alright, you\'re officially verified as super confident," Leon replied with a grin.
They arrived at a certain floor and walked down the corridor until they reached a room. Inside, though it wasn\'t as spacious as Leon\'s, the suite had several other rooms within it. A woman with her hair tied back and wearing glasses sat inside, her face bearing a resemblance to Olivia.
"She\'s Jane, my sister," Olivia introduced.
"Hi," Jane greeted. "I work as her manager."
So the "manager" Olivia mentioned was actually her sister. It made sense now, seeing them together-Olivia had come here to meet Leon, accompanied by Jane.
"Hi, I\'m Leon," he responded.
"Please, come in," Jane said, welcoming him.
Olivia led Leon to the balcony, and soon after, Jane brought drinks for them. The night air was cool, and the atmosphere felt more relaxed as they settled into conversation.
They sat there for a while, relaxing as Olivia poured him a drink.
"How did you even know I was staying here, Olivia?" Leon asked, glancing at her. "I\'m starting to feel a bit uneasy-you seem to know more about me than I expected."
She smiled and replied, "You\'re more famous than you realize, you know."
She continued, "You\'ve been getting attention since the competition in Dissidia Kingdom, and because you\'re the first player to own a city in the game. Not to mention, you\'ve been promoting the Car Shop brand. At this point, your identity isn\'t exactly a secret anymore." "Oh, I didn\'t know that," Leon admitted.
Olivia nodded. "Is Freya the representative from the Golden Age Company assigned as your guardian?"
Leon paused, realizing it made sense for all Divine Champions to be treated the same way. Olivia likely had her own guardian too.
"Yes... she is," he confirmed.
"She\'s pretty... and cheerful too... I wonder if there\'s something special between the two of you," Olivia teased.
Leon sighed, then replied, "You know, you\'re digging way too much into my personal life, especially with these relationship questions."
"Can\'t help it," she responded with a playful grin. "As someone who admires you, it\'s only natural for a fan to want to know more about their idol, right?"
"Hearing that from you really makes me suspicious."
"You\'re still suspicious of me?" she said, her tone playfully stern, though it was clear she was
joking.
Leon continued, "But seriously, Olivia, talking to you in person feels really different. While you have the same face as Marlene in the game, your-"
"So what?" Olivia cut him off, her eyes locking onto his. "That\'s just my image in the game, as
a Gluttony Champion."
"Yeah, I admit you play that role really well-a villainous woman, cruel and cold-hearted."
Olivia playfully bumped his shoulder with hers. "That\'s still better than someone like you, who has no personality-always flat, emotionless, and so ignorant of everyone."
"Am I really that bad?" Leon asked.
"Yes," she replied firmly. "But no worries, at least you treated me well today with that spontaneous song, and I\'m happy with it."
As the night grew late, Leon decided it was time to leave. They had already agreed to continue their discussion with Charmelyn in the morning. They needed rest to clear their heads and figure out a better way to handle the situation.
Leon stepped out of the room, but just before he could leave, Olivia approached him. With a gentle smile, she leaned in and kissed him lightly on the cheek.
"Bye," she said softly.
Leon froze for a moment, caught off guard by the gesture. After a brief pause, he managed to
reply, "Yes, bye," before turning and walking away.
As Olivia re-entered the room, she caught Jane watching her with a knowing look, followed by
a dramatic sigh. "Were you flirting with him?"
"Yes, I was..." Olivia admitted with a playful shrug. "But he\'s actually really gentle and fun. You wouldn\'t believe what he did in the lounge earlier."
"Don\'t tell me you\'re falling for someone who\'s supposed to be your rival in the game,
Olive?"
Olivia sighed, laughing softly. "I\'m just playing the game to have fun, so as long as I\'m happy, why not?" she said with a giggle.
