Chapter 250: Ch.249 Deadpool’s Third Wheel

Chapter 250: Ch.249 Deadpool’s Third Wheel

"There are werewolves, yes, but no regular wolves," Monarch replied casually. The folks at Kamar-Taj were more inclined toward research, so having a few magical creatures at the Sanctum wasn\'t out of the ordinary.

"Werewolves, huh? I wanna check that out."

Deadpool\'s interest was piqued. He knew that both the Midnight Sons and the Howling Commandos had werewolves, and who knows, this one could be related.

Su Ming hooked his arm around Deadpool\'s neck and pulled him back. After the battle, fatigue and hunger hit him like a tidal wave. Right now, he just wanted to grab a bite to eat, not visit some furry magical creatures.

"Next time. I\'ve got a yeti corpse stored at Kamar-Taj. I\'ll show you that later."

And so, the group ignored the shrieks echoing behind them as they exited the Sanctum.

A few days had passed since the typhoon, and now London was cautiously undergoing post-disaster recovery.

Britain was short on everything these days. With Germany\'s blockade and bombings, even the remaining firemen were elderly with beards down to their chests. After each air raid, their main job was digging survivors from the rubble, but more often than not, they were simply tasked with carting away the dead.

Military factories and radar stations were prioritized for repairs, so civilian homes naturally fell to the bottom of the list.

Public shelters in London were packed with homeless people. They survived on thin potato soup, while bread was prioritized for the military. For ordinary folks, getting their hands on flour was next to impossible.

The damage from the typhoon, all things considered, was minor. At least the storm didn\'t start any fires. Now, the streets were littered with debris and trash, but thankfully, there were no charred bodies.

Leaves floated in puddles along the streets, drifting aimlessly—much like Britain itself at the moment.

Monarch\'s residence was just ahead, but aside from him, no one was keen on going there for a meal—mainly because of the unbearable stench.

So, the group changed into casual clothes, and Gin contacted a hotel to arrange for a decent meal to celebrate their retrieval of the first part of Namor.

Changing clothes was no big deal for most, even Monarch was already dressed in formal attire. But Deadpool\'s face, resembling a shriveled raisin, needed to be properly concealed.

Su Ming thought for a moment and borrowed some bandages from Halloway, wrapping Deadpool\'s face entirely. He then dressed him in a high-collared trench coat and added a soft felt hat for good measure.

"Alright, if anyone asks, we\'ll say you\'re a burn victim," Halloway said, quickly finishing Deadpool\'s disguise with a nod of satisfaction.

"Burn victim? Have you ever seen a burn victim this handsome and dashing? You\'re defaming my beauty!" Deadpool tugged on the collar of his coat, glancing down at his reflection in a puddle. His disguise completely covered his face—he looked like one of those bandage-wrapped monsters from the comics he read as a kid.

"Let\'s go. After we eat and rest, we\'ll move on to the next step." Su Ming, mentally exhausted, gave Deadpool his instructions. He wasn\'t in the mood for banter right now.

The group dined on the hotel\'s rooftop. Business was dismal; the vast dining hall only hosted their party. Even the waitstaff serving them had faces clouded with worry, and not even tips could lift their spirits.

It felt like the entire place radiated the sentiment, we\'re losing the war, losing, losing.

The atmosphere annoyed Su Ming.

How could they lose when Deathstroke was riding high? All these people had to do was sit tight and wait for things to unfold. These Londoners really lacked any fighting spirit. The French had lost their capital and still organized resistance, but these islanders clearly lacked the grit of continental nations.

Deadpool tore a small hole in the bandages covering his face, stuffing a boiled potato through it. As he chewed, three beams of light suddenly appeared beside him.

It was as if columns of light had dropped from the sky, and three figures emerged right next to him.

Deadpool froze, mid-bite, and the potato fell from his mouth.

The distillery crew stirred in confusion, but Gin raised a hand to silence their chatter. Su Ming instinctively reached for his Godslayer sword but quickly put it back and resumed eating.

Out of the beams of light stepped two women and one man. The man seemed nervous, glancing around anxiously, while the two women immediately sat on Deadpool\'s lap. One of them even wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a kiss on him.

Su Ming grimaced at the sight. Deadpool hadn\'t bathed since crawling out of the sewers. The woman\'s tolerance for filth was impressive.

The most crucial point, though, was that neither of these women was Vanessa.

The woman who had kissed Deadpool wore a tight corset, short shorts, and cowboy boots. She topped it off with a brown cowboy hat. Her figure was curvaceous, her skin pale, lips bright red, and her demeanor was a mix of boldness and old-western allure.

The other woman, with short brunette hair, was dressed in a tailored women\'s suit. She also sat on Deadpool\'s lap but wore a stoic expression, her sharp features deep in thought.

Deadpool, still chewing, mumbled, "Uh, what are you guys doing here?"

"We noticed you disappeared, so of course, we had to come find you. We thought you\'d be in the thick of it, battling Little Mustache in WWII, but here you are... eating boiled potatoes? Last time I made you tomato sauce with beans, and you said you didn\'t like it!" The blonde woman grabbed Deadpool by the neck, shaking him like a rag doll. The bespectacled man who had accompanied them quietly found a seat nearby, distancing himself from the scene.

Normally, when these two got like this, things would escalate quickly, and it was not a pleasant sight. Best to stay out of the way.

Clears throat. Su Ming noticed the woman starting to unwrap Deadpool\'s bandages. Their faces were getting closer—this was about to get inappropriate. He quickly cleared his throat loudly, reminding Deadpool that his cousin, a doctor, a mage, and a dozen distillery workers were all present.

"Wade, aren\'t you going to introduce us?"

"Uh, yeah, about that, hehe... It\'s kinda complicated," Deadpool stammered awkwardly.

"I\'ll do the honors," the blonde woman stood up from Deadpool\'s lap and extended her hand to the group. "Inez Temple, codename \'Outlaw.\' The brunette here is Sandy, our tech specialist, and the guy over there is the utterly useless \'Weasel.\' We\'re Wade\'s colleagues from Agency X."

As she said "colleagues," Inez shot Su Ming a meaningful glance, as if to say, "We\'re not just colleagues."

Su Ming nodded. So, this was the woman Wade had been sneaking around with on the side. "I know you. Your grandfather was \'Two-Gun Kid\' Lance Temple, a friend of \'Two-Gun Man\' Matt Hawk. Incidentally, our Dr. Halloway here was a disciple of Two-Gun Man—he\'s the Avenging Angel."

Inez tossed her golden curls and smiled as she shook Halloway\'s hand. "Ah yes, the original Avenging Angel. Thanks for your future help with mutants. We\'re quite familiar with your grandson."

Halloway looked utterly baffled. "Future help? What did I do? What grandson? I\'m not even married yet..."

"This is \'Prince of Magic,\' Monarch," Su Ming continued, gesturing toward the mage. Outlaw\'s enthusiasm waned, as it seemed she wasn\'t too fond of wizards.

"And I\'m Wade\'s cousin, Slade, codename \'Deathstroke.\' This is my right-hand man, Gin. Sorry, I\'ve never been able to pronounce his real name properly, even after all these years."

Inez clearly recognized him, though it was something from the future. "I know, Wade talks about you guys often—his rich cousin and V—"

Cough! Gin interrupted with a cough, standing up to shake Outlaw\'s hand, though his expression was stern, as if facing a serious threat.

"Oh... hehe, nice to meet you," Outlaw chuckled knowingly and walked off to greet the rest of the distillery crew.

Su Ming narrowed his eyes. He realized something. Outlaw and her group were from the future, and they knew Gin. But what was that "V" word she almost said? Was that Gin\'s codename in the future? Could it be... V for Vendetta?

He glanced at Wade, who quickly averted his gaze and downed a glass of water in one gulp.
