Chapter 282: Ch.281 Departing the Battlefield

Chapter 282: Ch.281 Departing the Battlefield

But no matter how fast, two hands could never compare to Su Ming combined with Stranglehold in their current state.

The symbiote was truly a treasure for a Gundam pilot, able to press hundreds of buttons in an instant, and with the spatial awareness brought by Deathstroke\'s super brain, this was the standard ace template.

If he could keep this mecha, Su Ming decided to add a horn on its head and paint its gray body bright red.

In full view, everyone present saw Captain America climb into the mecha. They thought he was going to blow it up from the inside, but surprisingly, he used it to fight against the others.

A person wasn\'t supposed to be able to pilot such a sophisticated war machine, but not only did he manage it, he piloted it better than anyone. The next second, energy cannons, heavy machine guns, and rockets fired almost simultaneously, hitting enemies with pinpoint accuracy while sprinting. The German army suffered heavy casualties instantly.

Blossoming blue lights, accompanied by smoke, erupted where the enemies were concentrated, and under this firepower, survival wasn\'t just unlikely—it was hard to even leave a whole corpse.

The German tanks and mechas also tried to retaliate, but the mechanical beast that the "Captain America" had seized was incredibly agile, even using moves that many German pilots hadn\'t thought of.

The tall, gray figure weaved through the German lines, unleashing a storm of death, and the Germans finally understood how their enemies had felt when facing them before.

"Are their pilots all monsters?"

Fear crept into their hearts. They couldn\'t understand why Captain America was so terrifying today. It was as if he had turned into something dark, like he was possessed by a malevolent spirit.

"Expedition! Support the Captain!"

The voice from the tower\'s cables called out to the Expedition in the sky—it was a good opportunity for them to break through.

"Squeak!!! Boom!"

Su Ming\'s mecha used a circular saw to tear another mecha apart, then turned and accelerated sharply toward another target, while the heavy machine gun on its head continuously shot at the flying saucers in the sky.

Who knew what those flying saucers were made of—they were completely unaffected, even as sparks flew from them, they still pressed on through the machine gunfire and counterattacked.

Fortunately, Expedition arrived, and with his adamantium dagger, he could break through the outer shells of those flying saucers, taking some pressure off Su Ming.

Cable and his group rushed down from the tower. He and Boom were each responsible for suppressing fire in one direction, while Shatterstar used a katana to slash through the bullets targeting them.

Their progress was slow, but at least the Germans couldn\'t focus their fire on them anymore.

Cable, known for his dark demeanor even by Deadpool\'s description, figured out how to navigate the sewers quickly without anyone teaching him, and soon the group escaped the battlefield.

Su Ming made a few more charges back and forth, using up all his ammunition except for the main energy cannon. He moved closer to the entrance of the sewer where Cable\'s group had disappeared.

"Come back, Stranglehold."

He sent the thought in his mind and looked down at the control panel. There was a large red button, a black and yellow lever, and a glass cover over it.

No need to guess—this was probably the self-destruct button.

He smashed the cover with a punch, pulled the lever, and pressed the button, then jumped through a hole in the floor, rolling to disperse the impact, and dove into the nearby sewer.

The self-destruct had almost no countdown, and Su Ming moved incredibly fast. Even so, he could feel a powerful force surge from behind him as the Cosmic Cube\'s battery exploded, erasing a chunk of the ground.

The energy from the battery vaporized everything around it.

Luckily, he was already in the sewer.

Cable and his team were waiting nearby, holding their weapons and keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings.

In the underground, there was no need to keep up appearances. Stranglehold quickly retreated, revealing Su Ming\'s black and yellow uniform.

This made sense—Cable\'s team suddenly realized it wasn\'t Captain America after all; there was no way he could be so powerful and ruthless. But Deathstroke? That was entirely possible.

"Let\'s go, I\'ll take you to the guerrilla headquarters for some rest," Su Ming patted Cable on the shoulder. This big guy had good tactical sense, and working with him was quite smooth.

Cable\'s expression turned odd, as if he was struggling with something he wanted to say. A flash of yellow light appeared in his cybernetic eye.

"I have something to tell you."

"Oh? What is it?" Su Ming led them through the darkness, taking twists and turns as sewage swirled around their ankles.

"This timeline isn\'t right. I can\'t pinpoint exactly what\'s wrong... No, I should say that nothing seems right." Cable tapped his metallic skull, producing a clear sound.

"Is that so?"

Su Ming knew most of the intel from the comics, movies, and even the animations, but the current world didn\'t match any of them. Cable\'s new discovery was old news to him.

Gundam-piloting Germans? This isn\'t Return to Castle Wolfenstein. And flying saucers? Did they come out of Iron Sky?

Cable leaned in closer, lowering his voice. "Because you shouldn\'t be here either. You\'re Wade\'s cousin, not his great-grandfather. I knew back in London that you were a time traveler, but there were too many people around for me to bring it up."

Su Ming smirked; Cable was starting to suspect him, thinking he was the one messing up the timeline.

It was possible—he wasn\'t originally from this world, but ever since he arrived in Marvel, something had been affecting him.

He might have caused some changes, like giving Steve and Bucky a better childhood or kidnapping Dr. Erskine so he could live out his days peacefully, causing Captain America to appear on the battlefield sooner.

But Germany? That had nothing to do with him.

"You know what? Wade figured this out a long time ago," Su Ming turned, his mask\'s single eye meeting Cable\'s: "But he doesn\'t care. He doesn\'t care about time, or where he is—he just wants to have fun."

Cable\'s face tightened as he thought deeply.

"Let me put it this way: I\'m not here to destroy Earth, and I won\'t let anyone else destroy it either. So what are you worried about? Why not join me in finding the mastermind behind all of this and taking them out? At this rate, the Germans might really end up destroying the world."

Su Ming quickened his pace. Cable might be doubtful now, but he would come around.

Cable had always understood—he was just weary. The X-Men were constantly messing with time, and Professor X let them do as they pleased, even getting involved himself.

He could understand that, in desperate situations, changing history could be the solution, like during the Cuban Missile Crisis or with the Sentinels.

But such power shouldn\'t be abused. Now, the X-Men had grown dependent on it, constantly traveling back in time to solve problems, which was messing with the timeline of the entire universe.

As for Deadpool\'s time-travel belt falling into his hands, that seemed like a huge mistake.

The group moved silently through the sewers, the atmosphere heavy with tension. Su Ming simply didn\'t want to talk, while the others were lost in thought.

Cable\'s concerns were ultimately misplaced. As an outsider, Su Ming understood the dangers of time better than anyone.

From the Speed Force next door to the Time Stone over here, these weren\'t things to be used lightly. Once you decide to rewrite history, you have to be fully prepared.
