Chapter 53 Gene
Chapter 53 Gene
"Right… Leo mentioned the same thing." Shane said as he gently nodded.
"Anyway, I\'ll look for a mount in the Survivor Store or Reputation Store… Ahh… I can probably ask the Regional Chat or the World Chat about this." "Thank you, Sir Shane! I think I can fight the Zombies better in an open field if I have a horse." Gene replied. Although he was still skillful when fighting on foot, he felt that with a mount, he would be able to help the shelter more.
Furthermore, he could easily patrol the estate\'s surroundings with a horse. Well, he was already thinking of his role in this small shelter with a few number of survivors. He could tell that each of them had a role to fulfill so he had to do his part.
\'A miner, a physician, a blacksmith, and now, a knight… I guess this isn\'t too bad since we\'re still going to continue to grow since the Foreign Survivor had the talent to save the people from the Gray Fog…\' Gene thought as he could tell that since he was one of the earlier members of this shelter, he knew that he had to show how good he was and have a better position once their number here started increasing. He knew that saving the continent wouldn\'t happen in a few months or just a couple of years. It would take a long time, so he had to prepare himself. "Very well, since I detected a few zombies… Can you eliminate them? I want to see your skills with the sword. If you\'re in trouble, I can use my gun to help you, so don\'t worry. You can also try to loot them and see if you have decent luck…"
Gene\'s eyes lit up after hearing this. "Zombies? Where? Let me try killing them!" Gene said in excitement. In the era where he was taken away by the fog, the Zombie Outbreak hadn\'t been that widespread yet. Because of that, it would be his first time to encounter one.
Shane liked his enthusiasm, so he pointed to the direction where Cloud sensed the zombies. Gene followed his gaze and didn\'t see any zombies yet. However, after some time, their silhouettes appeared and he saw a group of about ten zombies wandering in the forest. They were mostly Walkers and Runners, with one Jumper and one Spitter among them. This group of Zombies had actually surprised Shane. After all, this wasn\'t a simple cluster of Zombies. It was as if they were some sort of a squad…
Nonetheless, Gene didn\'t think too much of it and just thought that it was normal to have gatherings of multiple types of Zombies.
Gene grinned and ran towards them, drawing his sword. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
\'A bit reckless, but I like this bravery…\' Shane commented in his mind as he watched the Knight from a distance, ready to shoot if necessary. Click…
He held his revolver in his hands and was ready to shoot as soon as he noticed something off.
Soon, he saw Gene slash through the zombies with ease, cutting off their heads, limbs, or torsos. He was using his Swordsmanship Skill really well!
With the increase of his damage, accuracy, and defense, it seemed that these low-tier Zombies would be easy to deal with.
He only had to worry about the Spitter Zombies since they could explode and they would spit acid blobs from time to time to kill him. Nonetheless, because of his Valor Skill, he wasn\'t hesitating in his movements at all! He looked like a natural born killer.
The Walker and Runner Zombies didn\'t stand a chance against him. The Zombies fell one by one, leaving a trail of blood and gore behind... Soon, Gene reached the last two zombies, the Jumper and the Spitter. He could tell that these two were special, so he moved with extra care.
"Hmph!"
Gene dodged the Jumper\'s leap and stabbed it in the chest… He then followed it up with a slash on its head!
Thud!
\'This one\'s fast, but he has no proper technique… If I had this Zombie\'s strength, this clash wouldn\'t injure me at all.\' Gene thought as he assessed the strength of the Zombies. Ptui~
He then heard a familiar spitting sound as he avoided the Spitter\'s acid. Of course, he didn\'t waste this opportunity!
\'That should take some time before you can gather more acid… Perfect!\'
Gene didn\'t waste his time as he killed the Spitter Zombies by slashing its head. It was gory, but it was part of his job, and he had to get used to such a scene.
Gene then looked around and saw no more enemies. \'So it\'s done…\' Gene smiled and raised his sword in victory. He felt a rush of adrenaline and satisfaction from that fight. He certainly loved fighting and killing zombies as he felt alive and free!
However, instead of celebrating, Shane shouted at him!
"Spitter Zombies will explode! Careful!"
As soon as he heard that warning, the headless Spitter Zombie behind him exploded!
Boom!
The Spitter Zombie\'s flesh, blood, and even its acid were thrown everywhere! Luckily, Shane\'s warning was in time, as he was able to duck behind the metal fence of the estate. \'What? That was dangerous!\' Gene\'s eyes widened as he realized that a part of his armor was corroded because of the acid… Gene shivered in fear as he realized it could\'ve been his skin!
